Random Revelations - Osho Inspired?

1.       How to define Good and Evil? When a tiger kills a deer it is acting naturally. When lions fight for territory, it is competition. There is no evil in nature. Where does this definition come from then? As our consciousness evolved, we realized living in harmony was important. We had greater power for destruction as well as creation. So norms came into existence. Killing another human being was termed evil. So were robbery and other crimes. We also termed things related to love and kindness as good. But love is a natural feeling. Its present in all living beings. To quote Friederich Nietzsche: “What is done out of love always takes place beyond good and evil.” When we love someone, we don’t follow reason, we act instinctively than logically.

2.       Why can’t we love more than one people at a time? We are in love again and again, will keep doing so. But we repress our previous encounters, we recall only the painful memories. Rather we should cherish the joy they provided. Feeling of love is beyond defining, but with immeasurable pleasure. But why does society think we need to love one person at a time? Why do we need discipline while eating or behaving, while being with others. Its to create order, to allow for survival of the society, of the community as a whole. We are asked to repress our animal instincts and follow the conscious conditioned mind.

3.       The development of our brains has brought us to the top of the food chain, and has allowed us to manipulate and use the resources as per our convenience. But this complexity has clouded our brains too. Our feeble confused brains don’t know what will bring true happiness – money, wealth, power, security. But the only thing that will bring true happiness is true love. And you can only love someone unconditionally if you love yourself, are at peace within.

4.       Never repress what you feel. It distorts your conscious mind and reinforces that procedure. Your feelings are natural. Its conditioning that is created by man. Everything that we have learned including how to speak and walk is artificial, imposed upon us. Our true self is free from all these biases, and the truest form in us that remains after all the conditioning are our feelings.

5.       Unless you try to unravel your unconscious, you will never be at peace. Because you will try to control it without understanding its true nature, and it will always revolt.

6.      Love will bring you happiness only if you do so without any expectations. As soon as you start expecting things, you will not be at peace. Discontent, suspicion and jealousy will be born. Not so easy to do, for we have been trained to expect things, to look at the world in a certain way. We expect things from everyone we meet. What we call love the way we see it is momentary and materialistic. We are never satisfied.

7.       Don’t try to quantify and differentiate things you love. Love one and all, love anything that is beautiful and intriguing. Love all intelligent and pretty men / women(depending on your inclination), all tasty food and intoxicating drinks! Love everything naturally without bias.

8.       Maharshi Raman Quotation: “Agyaniyon ke liye na sochna jitna mushkil hai, gyaniyon ke liye sochna utna hi mushkil hai.” When we are born our minds are blank. It is trained to think. To untrain it, not to think requires discipline and application. Meditation is a means to do that. We need to control our minds, rather than letting them control us.

  3. I like point #1, More analogies

    * A cheetah kills a gazelle, Its not Murder!
    * When a lioness steals that cheetah's fresh catch, its not Robbery!
    * If a lion fights another lion for a lioness to impregnate her, Its not Rape!

All the above, in context to humans is "crime". Reminds me of a very local term - तुम करे तो प्यार हम करे तो बलातकार
